Back to A Weavin' We Go,
I have been weaving, but still behind the normal number of rugs I should have. I am working on some denim and also corduroy rugs for my next market that begins in MAY 2019.
I will only be vending on Saturday mornings 8-1 this year. Our market voice has changed the hours of operation from Tuesday afternoons to Wednesday mornings and changed again, to Wednesday nights 4-8.
Wednesday nights 4-8 works for some but not for me. I am hoping the Saturday morning/8-1 will be a productive market for me again.
I will plan to have plenty of inventory available. Loom woven rugs, pocket purses, large jean bags, and kitchen towel/potholder combination.
If you are ever in the Quad City area be sure to stop in Saturdays 8-1 May thru October to check out the Freight House Farmers on the banks of the Mississippi River, Davenport, Iowa.

Tuesday Market
Tuesdays market is on. The weather is predicted to be HOT, it is suppose to be 100 degrees. I'm sure
it will be hot on that parking lot. no shade unless I take the canopy. I can do that although it isn't easy to set up with out help. I'm going to try and stick it out. Hopefully all the customers come to shop. School is back in session and the schools without air conditioning will release early by about 2 hrs.
Hope you will all come out to the market, even though it could be hotter than normal.

July 6 2013
Super busy day at the Freight House Farmers Market. Lots of vendors and lots of walking through customers. It might just have been a record setting day. The water has receded and everyone was in their usual market spots. The sun was warm and the heat started at about ten a.m. It didn't stop a single event.
I took several orders for woven rugs and need to replenish my inventory, almost 5 empty boxes went home today. Guess I need to get busy and seriously weave. One of my three looms now needs to be re-strung. All of my black and natural warp is used up and I only have the blue and brown looms with warp on them, they are even getting down to the end of the spools. Lucky me, at least I wont have to wait for an order of warp, I have some on hand to use for the warping. Next week will be busy with the cutting and sewing for those orders I took and I am going to try and squeeze some weaving in on Wed. Thurs. and Friday. Tuesday is market day so there won't be much time to weave on that day.
I'm off to do some strip cutting and get organized again.

A couple New rugs
Here are a couple new rugs. The denim and red are shown on the loom. It is off and hemmed now. Second is a grey corduroy and tourquise striped rug. It is really pretty.

Paricipating At QC Food Hub
I'm now participating in the Quad City Food Hub. I am fortunate to have been asked to display my merchandise in this venue. I have new loom woven rugs, made on my Newcomb Loom, pocket pouches and kitchen hanging towels on display. They are available beginning today- 2/16/2013.
The Food Hub is a new venture for the area. There are also food vendors included in the venue.
All of my products are locally hand made in the Quad City area. All made in my smoke free, pet free home, by me.
I am continually making all products,check in for new products weekly.
The Food Hub will be open on Saturdays 8a.m.-1p.m.
Beginning February 25 it will be open daily.
Stop out and take a look. It is very interesting.

January 2013
I'm finally back to blog. I have been doing weaving and prep work for weaving..I have now got back to weaving for real. I was doing a lot of cutting and sewing since the market ended in October. Although I did four market Saturdays in December. They were pretty good as far as traffic, and it was inside. I love the market outside on the river front, the indoor market was good since the weather was chilly, one day, rainy, and then cold.
I have denim, and cotton rugs made and off the loom. On the loom I have some corduroy and flannel rugs. They are very attractive. I made 4 cotton place mats in blue. Its a start. I plan to do more place mats before the spring and summer market begins.
Today, I sorted pockets for pocket purses which I plan to start decorating and sewing together. I hope to work on them continually this week. I believe I only had about 20 left from the fall market. There are a lot of new ideas that I have for the decorating part. Should be fun.
I will also be weaving. I have flannel on the shuttles now and plan to do a few more denim rugs this week. I've got lots of supplies that need to be woven up.
